still issues with the first gear after shifter cable replaced
Hi Guys I replaced the shifter cable because was so hard to shift the gear, now is better but still little hard, even the first gear sometimes doesn't shift since the first time, still need to shift the second and suddenly change for the first and shift for the first, so with the new shifter cable replaced what other issues could be in the transmission? what is the name of the part in green?, which one is Vertical and which one is Horizontal?, what cable has a relation for the first and second gear?, could be issues with selenoid? just to try figure out. Thanks sincerely
Hey all, jumping back to the original question here. What is the name and/or part number of the item shaded green. My son's car is stuck in neutral. The upper part of the green part spins but the shaft it is connected to doesn't move.
I'm hoping it's just a sheared pin and can be replaced.
Update: I think I found it. Shift Control housing, part #25196725.
Can this be replaced from the outside or are there internal connections. The parts attached to the shaft have me concerned.
So I found one in a Pull-n-Pay yard but I can’t get it out! What’s the trick? I assume it’s some specific combination position between the vertical and horizontal levers but I’m not finding it.
OK, so I figured it out. Disconnect the cables (obviously and it helps to undo the cable bracket M14 bolt so you move them out of the way). Remove the five T30 bolts. Then on the side of the transmission case facing the front wheel, there is a retaining bolt that takes an M12 reverse star socket to remove. (this bolt is NOT it the documentation someone posted) Then it just slides out. I installed the salvage part and hooked everything back up and I THINK all is good. I still have it on the jack stands, so I started it up and put it in gear. It goes into all gears OK. It has a "clunky" sound at first, when releasing the clutch, but it goes away as rpms increase. I think it's just because I have it suspended with no weight or load on the axles and it idles very rough (different story). Time will tell. Picture below of a top view of the retaining bolt partially backed out but still in place and side view with it removed.
