Temp Gauge Problem

Has anyone had a problem with their temp Gauge reading. My HHR has been back to the service dept. 3 times in the last two weeks. They replaced the sensor and repaired a loose wire so far.

wow, the engine's running at zero degrees...
i know HHR's are cool but that's ridiculous!
seems like a temp guage would be simple to fix, but with all the sophisticated electronics these daze, who knows?
good luck hope they fix it soon...

Just had that happen a week and a half ago. I was out of town so I was not able to take it to the dealership until yesterday. I picked it up this evening, they replaced the temp sensor.

It would seem that if they put a tech 2 scanner they could see if the ECM is seeing eng.temp and if it is, is the ECM talking to the BCM to to tell the DIC and temp gage to read. The BCM controls the DIC and as in your pic. there is no temp showing. SOOOOOOOOOOOO no input from sensor ?? alot of cars have two sensors one for ECM and one for the gage, did they replace the right sensor.?????????

My HHR has a similar problem. The temp guage doesn't work and the AC quit too!. A few times the temp guage came back to life briefly and so did the AC. I haven't had time to return the car to the dealer to fix this problem.

Here’s the scoop so far in a nut shell. Day 5 and my HHR is still in the shop, they have been in contact with GM.
It is my understanding that they are going to replace the BCM and the thermostat. Hopefully I’ll get it back today.
I’ll post more when I get my car back.
