Stick with what the tag says inside the driver door. Ususally 32-35 lbs.

Read your wear if the center is more worn let some out if the edges are wearing add a few pounds.

Also you may need to run less in the back since it has less weight.

Start at 32 and adjust from there.

I just got the HHR and it has 4300 miles on it ans according to the moniter all the tires are reading different. So I am looking for a comfortable starting point.

I wouldn't rely solely on the TPMS system. I've got a good pressure guage that I use when I check the psi in my tires and only use the TPMS to keep an eye on things.

Like I said 32 PSI is a start and then read the tires from there. You could even go 30 in the rear if you like. I would just not go less than 30 to start with.

Keep in mind higher pressures will give a slight increase in MPG but can wear the centers of the tires sooner. Less will generate heat in the tires and wear the outer edges.

30-32 will not hurt anything and give youy a place to start.

First you should open the drivers door and look at the label that is there in all cars made in the last 30 years or more. Then you should use a tire gauge to check each one individually and adjust accordingly. The TPMS is an incredibly poor thing to use for accuracy, it is an emergency use only item that is designed to get your attention when a tire is losing pressure. It has gotten to where people are relying solely on it and dieing because of it.

I run 40psi in mine and at 21000 miles tires are wearing perfect. I do it for mpg and it's not hurting the tires at all. And I average 34-37 mpg on a 2.2.
