totaled

Hey guys,
Sad sad day for me today, I got informed by my Safeco insurance that the car 2010 HHR SS will be totaled after the stupid accident I had last Friday,, Classic accident, person did not stopped at a stop sign etc...
Any tips in this situation will be greatly appreciated :(

It just doesn't take much to total an HHR these days. You might investigate buying it and repairing it.

Looks like there is a chance the strut towers got bent, that might kill that idea. You should be able to get a copy of the estimate from the adjuster.

Thats a dang shame. I like donbrew's suggestion.

Sorry to see it end like this.

I suggest taking those wheels and tires off and selling them to me XD. Sorry, I am greatly sorry for your lost. When I was rear ended I was freaking out because I thought they would total out my HHR; Repairs cost just about what the car is worth.

So then if the other guy is at fault, the his insurance will be replacing your SS?
Sorry for your loss but it might be a new beginning!

I kept googling "Chevy HHR SS for sale" in google and actually found mind on CarGurus.com . It was at a local dealership, super clean body. Just drive it like you stole it to make sure the turbo is ok

I like Cargurus and have bought 3 cars off of their site.
The biggest issue outside of buying the right car is most are way off somewhere to far to go look and drive.
I took a chance on each one but luckily I came out OK on all of them.
I also spent some time and found a good shipper that made a difference in my stress level.
I also asked for specific pictures of each car to eliminate any questions or doubt.
You obviously know the SS well and that helps in making a deal. Many Dealers are Full of you know what, and you have to be knowledgeable, firm, and reasonable in discussions.
Bottom line .. It is a bit risky but you never know what you might find. Just go slow and be careful.
I do like their site as it shows the mileage right up front on most listings.
Also you can put in just the model years you are looking for.
Downside is they do not list the SS separately.

I can private message you my shipping info if it will help.
