Turn signals won't cancel

Turn signals won't cancel. I turned over the spring before and it has worked for years. I bought a new switch and it won't cancel either. I hate being the old guy driving through town with his turn signal on. Is there something else that goes bad?

The new multi switch isn’t installed correctly, you might have just missed the cancel part f the column

Well, I need to take mine apart for the same problem, but nothing in that video seems to indicate there is anything needed but pushing it straight in, What are we missing?

The cancelation is triggered by the clockspring assembly.
At least that's the way it is in my 2006.
