Why are you afraid oncoming traffic will see you? Safety feature.

You could pull the fuse or relay. But we don't discuss thing like that here.

Also you could be at fault if you had them off and in an accident the other party stated that they didn't see you. I remember the Chevy add in about 94 when they first showed DRL and that still sticks with me. I think all cars should be required to have them. I am looking on how to activate DRL on my 96 Z3 as they were required in Canada in 96. Just my 2 cents worth.

Most 95 on GMs have the wiring you only need to add the relay and/or the fuse. In 95 GM tried to get the US to mandate them like Canada but the attempts have failed. Now we are in "factory installed safety equipment" that probably makes you liable if you disable it; a litigation at least.

BMW has a really odd way of wiring, I don't see a way without running new wires and then some engineering.

My 1993 Pontiac Trans Sport SE had the DRL’s, this one was never mine, just a stick photo.

you can turn them off at the column, why is there the ability to do it manually then.?

Canada mandated them on cars imported after Jan.1, 1990. In the US they are permitted but not required since 1995.

Is it too much trouble to look in your Owner Manual and pull the appropriate relay? Or on the label inside the lid of the fuse box.?

free digital Owner Manual via link in my sig (that seems to be invisible).

Don I have the Bentley manual for the Z3. The Z3 sold in Canada had DRL an as I have only had the manual a couple of weeks I am still learning it. It is more complex then the one I had for my 59 Bugeye, It also covers 2 generations and about 5 different engines. If you are familiar with the manual their wirring diagrams are very different as each system is shown independent and in multiple variations depending on the model. It is about 2 to 3 inches thick. I am plowing through it.

Why don't you drive without a seatbelt instead? Defeating a safety feature is idiotic. If it didn't affect others, I would say, fine, do it. Let Darwin's law collect those unfit to survive. But don't be a dirk, and take out innocent people.

Come on! Wise up!
