Personally I've never seen the point of doing a DRL delete. But some people simply don't like them. On GMTnation.com many of the members there have found ways to turn them off on Trailblazers and some of the full size GMTs.

The only negative I've ever had with DRLs is on the HHR, the area around the signal lights melted inside the headlight housing over time because they are always on unless I turn on the fog lights in overcast conditions.

And that DRL system is only on 2006. 2007-up uses the headlights.
