Engine Cradle

I got the engine cradle back from powder coat today. There is a place in town that does a really great job for reasonable prices. I'm posting a couple of pics of the details incase anyone follows in my footsteps. (fools) I did add a couple of welded in 1/2" nuts on the inside of the rear sections for bolting in a removable strengthening piece (thanks for the suggestion Oldblue). These pics show a pretty good idea of what it looks like. Not all that complicated really.

More real SS parts for my fake SS

My local Chevy dealer loves me. Here is the SS front bumper cover fresh from the paint booth

Man o' man lasater, I wouldn't know whether to use that engine cradle, or hang it on the wall as a piece of art.

2 full days...a little progress

I just finished 2 full days of work on the car, really doesn't look much different. As I posted before, I had to cut out the bottom of the passenger side of the fresh air intake/rain trough to clear the right cylinder head. Well making a piece of sheetmetal to fit in the hole was a job. Fortunately I have a really good (Lazze) bead roller and shrinker/stretchers. Even so, it took several tries to get the part correct and even longer to weld it back in place. Welding down inside that trough is really hard. Oh well, it's done and the cowl is back on. And wouldn't you know it, you can't see anything I did.
