Impeccable attention to detail. (What you reckon YearOne is thinking about now?)

YouTube video of engine cranking

OK so it won't start yet. ...it still needs lots of electrical work and fuel lines are only halfway but we are making progress. Search for it on YouTube as
Ls1 HHR first crank

This is pretty much the only thread I read on this forum. I wish you were a couple houses down from me.

Man, You Guys Are Really Bored!

I can't believe that my ramblings about this little project of mine has had 100,000 views. You people must really be bored.

Seriously, I'm flattered that so many of you follow along with the build. I've gotten lots of great input on the project and I really appreciate it all. I'm just doing what Chevy should have done in the beginning.

If It Ain't 1 Thing It's 10 Others.

As you may recall, I couldn't get the air suspension controller that I want to use to work on just the 2 front air struts while keeping the Aldan coil-overs in the rear. To this end, I went with AirLift sleeve type rear shocks. This will give me 5 inches of up and down in the rear. While cycling the suspension thru it's capabilities it was discovered that the torque tube hit the body. This is bad.

Plan "B":
Rip out the custom made torque tube and build "Ladder" type trailing arms. This seems to do the trick. I had some new rear axles made by Moser and they will be here Monday. Once those are installed, I'll know more on the final fit.

Here is the original way the torque arm fit in.

Here are the new Ladder Bars. I'm planning on this working.

It just keeps on getting better!

Of course the Admin and Mods here get dibs on test drives right?

(Just kidding gang, put down your torches and pitchforks please, we don't need a repeat of "The Creature Incident")

Hhr v8

Nice build, this is in my wheelhouse. When I built my 33 Willys, used Aldin shocks but they gave up the ghost while on a road trip. Switched to Pro shocks, much better but snapped a stud off on another road trip. Never did like the idea of entire rear suspended on a single bolt. Just got done building a new frame for my '39 and changed to air bags with triangle 4 bars. Bags were cheaper than coilovers and adjust with the push of a button. Keep up the good work please.
