Vapor Canister Connections
Actually it is "always" the purge valve (under hood). That is it's job.
The vacuum from the intake manifold is always there trying to suck the fumes from the gas tank. The valve "guards the gate", only allowing it when it is supposed to.
I bet you are also having hard start and/or P0171/P0172. Too much unmetered air in the intake.
