No, the car has sat for over a year...I had to resolve some title issues, so the AC has not been engaged.

No butyl patch on a 2009.
Those patches were only on the 2006 and some early 2007’s.

Ok, so these have been ruled out:

Butyl patch (not a 2006 model)
AC drain (AC hasn't been used)
Sunroof drains (no Sunroof)
Heater core (only leaks with rain)

That leaves:

Window left open
Door seals
Wiring boot in Door jamb
Leaking Windshield seal
Leaking front antenna

don't overlook the door drains, they can get blocked with dirt from dust and whatever. bottom of the doors and check the window door seals

Thanks again man. I am being told that there is no butyl patch on a 2009 HHR. Geez that was a dumb work-around anyway. Sheesh.

So, here's where I am confused. The only water is what pools on my passenger side floor. There is no wet carpet on the sides of that floor, just the floor itself. Also, the cabin air filter on the passenger side has soaked as well. That's why I assumed it had to be a butyl patch failure. I am going to get the hose and "rain" around the door seals to see if that was the problem. Seems the seats would be wet, or the flooring between the seat and the door, which it has not been.

I'm going to pull that cowl anyway to see if the drain hole by the wheel well is packed or if there is standing water anywhere under the cowl. This car has sat for over a year as I said.

Anyway, I'll post back if I get it figured out. My thanks to everyone answering my questions.

Thanks Jim. I'm gonna get the hose out here when the sun goes down and "rain" around the door seals to see if that's a problem as well.

Critter litter?

With the wet cabin filter, I think there’s a problem in the cowl area, despite no butyl patch.

So it could be the windshield seal, or water coming in the roof rack and flowing forward, or a window bottom seal, or plugged door drains, or drains in the front fender plugged and backfilling to fresh air intake, or a hole in the cowling (under the hood). All are good guessesThe only way to narrow it down is to start at the water and trace back. If water is running down a vertical surface, it may dry off before you see it.

You could try applying duct tape where the on the door meets the roof and windshield for a while and see if it dries up.
