water leaking in

Has anyone experienced water getting behind the kickplate on the drivers side? I bought "Silver Ice" on Easter Saturday this year, and they just replaced the wiring behind the kickplate, it was all corroded. they said it was from snow and slush from my boots and shoes, but I don't buy it. My thought is going thru car-washes that have under carriage spray to remove the salt and sludge from our winter roads might be the issue?

I kept getting the message "Reduced Engine Power" on the DIC and would lose all power, going down the freeway, highway or regular street. They replaced the gas pedal sensor, the transmission sensor, the throttle sensor and finally were blaming it on my AirAid cold intake, which I said was nonsense, but ... the day they were going to put on the original air filter unit, a notice from GM came across about the wiring harness, which seems to have fixed the problem. But they were "mum" on the thought of water getting in from the outside, said it was my boots and shoes.

i think your corroded wires were the issue of "Reduced Engine Power" on the DIC just my :2cents:

That was the issue. But they would not address why or how the wires got bad. Next time I take it thru a car wash with under body spray, I'll have to check to see if the carpet is wet by my feet next to the kick-plate.

I only saw postings about it with the 2006 on the passenger side

I had a problem with water on the drivers side. Not as bad as the passenger side thing but bad enough to leave the carpet very wet. Turned out to be a leak in the cowl area where something wasn't sealed properly. Had it back twice before they finally seemed to fix it. Mine's an '06 2LT
