Weird Butyl Patch Problem, Part doesn't work

Heya,

I tried searching but couldn't find anybody with a similar problem that I have.
I have a 2007 LT Panel. Same problem as everyone water on the passenger floor.
I did the research grabbed the OEM replacement that is the harder plastic pre-dumb dumbed. Part number 25785783 water deflector.
I take it all a part and find that my hole doesn't look like any of the others holes.
My hole is all weird and the replacement doesn't seal anything at all.
I called Chevy Parts and they confirmed that this is the part I am supposed to have.
My car is all like NAH BRO!

Do you fellas know of something that I am missing? I can't seem to find another replacement part that would actually seal what is going on here.

I promised I searched.

To begin; only the 2006 had a butyl patch. Along with some very early 2007s. If yours is coming from there your cabin air filter is soaked.

On other years the problem is more often
A. the AC drain is clogged
B. the sunroof drain is dislodged
C. the wiring conduit in the door is leaking.

Do you have a picture of the whole area of your car without the new patch covering it ?
Below is the only picture I could find. Compare yours to it.

Here's a picture of mine which is a 2010. If your's is like this and NOT like the top picture, then it doesn't have the butyl covering.

Thanks for the reply.

So it doesn't look like the maroon one it looks like the red one.

I sprayed the car with a hose for a long while and watched what the water is doing.
It is not coming in through that hole. It its being directed away from the filter area and down a drain hole.

Now the wiring thing in the door suggestion sounds good.
This car has no sunroof, and is currently wrecked and hasn't ran in months, but there is a literal puddle sitting in the back passenger floor board and the front is very wet.

I will look further into the door wiring suggestion.

Where is the damage from the wreck? That could possibly be the problem.

Thanks for posting a reply. Yep, yours is the one that didn't require the "patch" like the 2006's.
Check into the other spots for the leak. One other place to look is the antenna at the windshield.
