New SS non Brembo brakes, I see. Nice, you will love the better braking. Ask him nice if he’ll clean check and adjust your rear drum brakes.

He already glanced at them and said they needed work. Last weekend I overheard him tell his son he would spend the rest of his life making me happy. He ain't a big ole softie...so that meant alot hearing it. But I always ask him nicely for help...because I hate asking for help from anyone.

Should be able to , or at local parts palaces.

if your rear drum brakes are shot,

I tried just replacing the brake shoes, and turned the drums, the PowerStop kit resolved a slight pulsating problem in Oldblue, and I installed the similar kit in the BlackSwan, the auto adjusters work!

I would not use Eastwoods Rust encapsulator on brake components tho.

I used their Ceramic Engine Paint. Good to 600* That was over 10 years ago I painted my calipers & drums.
I bought a quart, & it is self leveling. So I brushed on 3 good coats & it looks like porcelain..

For my Panel, I waxed the grille & headlights twice.. So exciting..

I wasn't planning to do that. I have rust here and there I want to try to address.

I also noticed rust on the gas tank opening. That can't be a good thing. I have owned numerous cars in my life and have never seen that before.

Maybe hellshotrod has a nice rust free fuel door! Ronnie.

Today, a trip to Sweeties eye specialist for six month tests for her vision . Gotta check checking to ensure the cancer and chemotherapy didn’t damage her eyes.

it’s slightly snowing, so we will most likely head home after she’s done the tests

Are you talking about rust on the top edge of the filler tube opening?

We get that a lot here in the rust belt.

What happens next is the rust prevents a good gas cap seal and you get the infamous "slow evap leak" code.

Stuff a cloth into the opening (to keep debris out of the gas tank) and gently sand the edge with 220 or 320 sandpaper, depending on how bad the rust is.

Steve
