Yesterday was so nice (62 degrees and sunny on Christmas in Northern Ohio?!) we took the 2011 LS for a nice long drive to try to cook off possible stuff on the O2 sensor that set off the P0138. Seems to have worked. We can hope, can't we? So far, so good.
I join in the congratulations, Merry Christmas.
Russian Orthodox Christmas has not yet arrived
but the weather is already nice...
the temperature rose from -35C to +4C in 24 hours, dropped to -6C over the next 24 hours and everything was covered in snow so much that all the shovels in the city were sold out.
Of course, I have a shovel, but it’s in a garage on the other side of town, and I’m not sure that I’ll even be able to drive into the "garage condominium" without getting stuck. Well, this is the Urals, it has happened and not like that, I’m looking for options from whom to borrow a shovel.
last 2 days i been getting a CEL and thermostat temp low warning. Gauge stays down and digital readout gives me a - - - until I shut off the CEL, then works fine. I reset the wiring on the sensor tonight, we'll see if it helps. I am sure it is upset about the mud on the fenders from driving the grandson home. (gravel roads that should be frozen by now) supposed to be rain tomorrow so maybe it will clean itself up. Too cold for the hose to work, and not sure I want to battle the car wash ...
The outside temps are below 50 degrees, and the heater output is normal, so I am guessing the thermostat is OK (?) and when the gauge (and readout) start working, it goes up to normal operating range. It seems to be intermittent which makes me think electrical
A P0128 is almost always a bad thermostat. That code indicates that the coolant isn’t warming up in the programmed time frame.
Most owners find a thermostat partially stuck open by a dislodged rubber gasket on the thermostat itself
Precisely. Thanks FMG and remember to change your Dexcool if it’s 5 years or more since you last changed it or if you haven’t changed it since you bought the HHR
the correct thermostat is Ac Delco 131-158 180 degree F .
