what do you tow with your HHR ?

wondering what size / type trailers members have towed with their HHR ..... I put on the hitch, also have a 4x8 light duty fold up trailer for yard work, hauling plywood / drywall sheets from Menard's to my home a few miles down the road ......... but wondering if an aluminum 14 ft or 16 ft fishing boat would be too much ??? and what do you folks feel would be the chance of pulling the fishing boat outta the lake ?? input anyone ??? towing on level ground I don't think would be a problem as long as stopping distance and speed would be monitored well ..... but how about pulling outta the lake on a wet concrete boat ramp ?????? could be interesting or not ?? just curious how the rest of you would approach this .............. thanks .........

Did you try the Search box above ?
There have been a number of "what do you tow" threads posted in the past.
Made for some interesting reading and some cool pictures also.

I have towed a 12 foot fiberglass fishing boat with no problems at all.

I also tow a 4by8 steel trailer that I have hauled engines/ transmissions and such.

The 4by8 trailer that I own has a folding rear gate.

I borrowed 10by12 trailer from a friend of mine one time and found that his ramp tail gate that was about 4 to 5 feet non folding made a very notable drag at higher speeds.

did the search fireman ,,, thanks for the input ..... lots of good info there also - was just curious if any new thoughts from members on this subject..... I bought a 16 ft aluminum fishing boat - and alittle cautious about the pull outta the lake on a wet / slippery boat ramp ..... or a small tandem axle camper as some use for weekend camping trip .... etc....etc....etc..... I realize the vehicle has towing specs, but sometimes a guy has to push it alittle or a lot just to find out the "what if"...

Yep. I've been to a few of those "push it a little" or "what if" accidents during my career. Most of those accidents were caused by pulling overweight items.
There's a reason for a recommended weight limit on towing capacities.
Try a panic stop towing too much weight.
It won't stop and the trailer may even pass you by, right after it spins your car around and out of control.

Hhr was not. Meant to tow, brakes transmission suspension, can't handle it.
Buy. A big pick up.
