Where is the PCV valve?
Burning oil ill
Sorry, one thread. Not much for reading all the technicals.
Yes, hard.
Yes, stop and go.
Timely oil changes? Not so much.
Quality oil? I could cry. I did my best ol girl.
Additives you say?
I've seen the shelf of snake oil at O'Smilely's. Didn't have much luck with their oil :'/
Is there a specific product you fellas can recomend?

Sounds like your first impression may have been right, you may have cylinder wall/ring wear. You could perform a compression test if you want a better idea of how bad the damage is. Most auto parts stores have a 'loaner' program.
I can't say anything about products, I've never needed them. You could look into Restore, see if you think it would help. It depends how badly worn the engine is.

I was thinking compression rings, allowing the crankcase to pressurize, and forcing oil vapor out through the PCV orifice.
Hi Guys. I have heard you can clean the orifice on the PCV valve (the only method I have seen is with the valve cover in place. My next big job is to replace the Timing chain which will require me to remove the valve cover. I was hoping I could clean this orifice with the valve cover removed (which I hope will make the job easier). I was just wondering if anyone has seen this orifice on the PCV valve and will it be easy for me to locate with the valve cover removed?
