great ? I thought I read that on the average the turbo starts going a little over 100k
but I am thinking that if the oil is changed more occasionaly than the computer recomends they will go higher.
Batman I would love to see a video of a GMTU tune pushing 28 psi.
From what Ive seen of the life of other cars with this turbo, if you leave it stock, close to 230k, as long as you take care of all the other problems, and dont push it hard daily. Thats the perk of a Variable Turbo, vs a reg turbo. Reg turbos will run harder all the time.
With upgrades, not sure the life of the turbo. I would have to say maybe 160k? But the other fact I love, I have seen the SS motors live past 200K... mmm

A question I know all the SS owners have is...how long will the turbo hold up? Has anyone come up with an about average milage for replacement yet? Or are they designed to live the life of the motor......Now that the high milers are adding up, the problem areas will start showing up, and Im sure alot of people will base how far they will push these little beasts on that info before trading in....
Just turned 211k today, burn about 1 quart of oil every 3k now, just had trans and rad flushed, replaced belt, trans gets done every 100k, rad every 2 years, belt and plugs every 80k. Runs great, what is the value of HHR's with this many miles?
I haven't read through this thread so I don't know if this vid has been posted yet but here is a possible clear front-runner in most miles. Be prepared for bad background music.
