Windshield Rock chips

just out of curiosity, has anyone noticed that they get more rock chips on their HHR windshield than other cars? maybe because windshield is not that sloped? have at least 5 in the last 3 years of ownership. on my second windshield, cant remember the last one ive got on my other cars that have way more sloped windows like my vette for example

Right on .... That's why.
My last Chevy Venture van went 98,000 miles with only one very small ding.
I had 2 bad ones on my first HHR within 10,000 miles.

I'm on my second windshield since I bought the HHR in Dec 2009.
It could be the sloop it could be the debris kicked up in your roadways.

It turns out that I'm lucky.
I am the owner of my Hippo from December 2008 - still only one wound on the glass.
And Hippo got this wound at motherland in the US, in Russia there is no damage to the glass.
Unfortunately, hood and right front fender damaged in the stone bombing.
Maybe in Russia stones are larger and do not reach to the glass?

I drove the '01 Neon for 10 years, only got one tiny chip. I've had the HHR for less than 3 years, I've had to purchase 2 new windshields.

I used to plan on a windshield a year. Mine get pitted. No worse than my previous vehicles; Toyota P/U, Nissan P/U,VW rabbit, VW Karmann-Ghia.

It seems to be the air flow over the hood they always hit in the same place.

The windshield on my car has lots of small pits in it that show up when the sun is at the right angle. I could have it changed, but we have major road construction on I-85 here NC for next two years or longer and I drive that part of I-85 to go to work. Just have to deal with the pitted windshield.

That's what I have found too. I thought at first it was just a coincidence.

The windshield on the Venture Van was large and a pretty good slope.
It took some very hard hits but never did much damage.

The Quality of the replacement glass can also make a difference.

When your doing most of your driving at higher speeds your just more vulnerable.

on my 3rd windshield .. but now that a lot of you have stated... hits in the same place, I get a lot of chips, but they add up when on the driver side.. tractor trailers, dump trucks etc etc etc rocks
