I got mine changed out a couple of weeks ago(GM safety recall 14115) and today I got a notice from GM telling me to contact my Chevrolet Dealer that the parts for my HHR are now available.

I JUST received my steering recall/reimbursement notice today.

I have a early 2006 HHR. When my EPS went out, I was informed that ONLY the 2006 Cobalt was covered for that defect. My question then was: If the 2006 Cobalt has the SAME power train and components as my 2006 HHR-the only difference is the platform. Why shouldn't the 2006 HHR be covered for the same defect?

I replaced the EPS myself. NOW I need to know I can apply for the reimbursement for my parts and labor? I will tell them my story and see what there response is.

Has anyone else gone through this process?

Fill out the form and send it in and be sure to include any requested receipts and work orders!

Finally got a letter from Chevy a couple of days ago saying that I can get reimbursed for having the PS Motor replaced back in March. Have to fill the form out and bring it and the original invoice over to the dealer when I'm feeling up to it. Since an Extended Warranty paid for most of it I guess I only get the $100 deductible I paid.
Wonder if it's covered if the Motor goes out a second time?

I have NO ....receipts and work orders.

Because I was left in the cold by GM to do it all by myself, because they would NOT stand behind there product.

I will fill out the form & state my cause & see if they leave me in the cold again.

It's GM'S fault you don't have a receipt?

Bbrrrr most likely no receipts then no reimbursement , maybe the place you bought the part from can help you out!
FWIW I keep my receipts as proof of purchase and to confirm what parts where replaced when, as a history of the car when I sell it, or you try and pry it out of my cold dead hands!
