I78thumper - do remember this post of yours? "WE DONT have the parts yet. We will fix your car. YOU ARE only hearing 1 side of a story . I own an HHR and I am keeping it. PLEASE give your dealer a chance we are here to help. But alot of people are beeing very nasty to us and being very unreasonable. When we get the some of the 2.6 million ign switches we will fix your car. Sorry my turn to vent. It takes time to make new switches do you want them rushed so there not right. Give GM and your dealer a chance to repair your car. And remember YOU HAVE ONLY heard ONE side of the story. Im in the trenches every day."

Well, like you the mods and admin are in the trenches here as well - and yeah we get frustrated with the expectations of some of the posts
- we get slammed for suggesting that a member just use the SEARCH tool at the top of the page to quickly find the info they are looking for (some think we have the info stored away in our brain for instant recall or something, so we should just post the link, but of course it doesn't work that way)
- we see people asking the exact same questions time after time, and sometimes the same person asks the same question in several different sections here, and the issues go on and on

We end up reading a whole lot of posts here every day. We may not post a response if we don't have anything to add or suggest, but they all get read. Sometimes our responses are short and to the point - sometimes we try and inject some humour into it - and sometimes get misinterpreted - - and we get slammed for it. Oh well - that's life.

So lets all chill, and have a bowl of ice cream!!!

X2, and well said whopper.

Post #188 wasn't aimed at a particular member, but it is meant as a wake up call, and a call for reason.

I think I can speak for all of my staff here by saying that we'll all be happy campers when every HHR has been through the recall, and every owner is happy and confident in their vehicle again.

Call it "Pie in The Sky" wishing if you will, but we as HHR owners are all in the same boat here, so let's try not to start smacking each other with the oars OK.

My apologies for the internet equivalent of yelling in my last post, it was an expression of exasperation, and not something I'll do very often.

Agreed re: all the HHR owners and recalls. There's gonna be a lot of disgruntled Ford/Chrysler/Toyota etc. etc. owners with the flurry of recalls the last while. I sympathize them, and with the Service Writers and dealership personnel that bear the brunt of all this.

Dang - we are out of ice cream!!!!

No ice cream, and here I was just drooling over the thought of two scoops of Rocky Road with whipped cream and a cherry on top.

Just my luck, sigh.

Finally got my switch fixed today after a 5 month
wait everything seems to be alright with it the only
problem with the new keys is the door is a little tight
getting it to unlock with the key but other than that
every thing else is fine.

I guess what took so long for me to get it fixed was
the dealership changed owners and my recall order
was lost in the shuffle.

I went to check on it Friday afternoon and the new guy
at the service counter couldn't find any trace of it in
the new system so had to wait for the other guy that
was still there from before the switch to find it but all
is well now at least I don't have to jiggle wiggle the key
up and down to get it to start now.

So what is the connection between the ignition switch and the ABS/ESC lights?

Stopped by my local Chevy dealer on Monday to check on the recall parts for Herbie, ignition switch was in (sitting on shelf for 30 days, no call from dealer), went back on Tuesday to have switch installed and they did the power steering recall too. It took them a little more than an hour to complete both recalls. Glad this is done.
