went to the dealer for the recall...
Come on guys please don't make this harder than it is. This is so easy to do. I know it might be inconvient but it's not brain sergery. You for sure get ign switch possibly or probibly lock cyl and keys and yes it will work all your locks IF it worked them all before. And you guys are right it's funny most of the time LOL.

Someone asked in previous thread (now closed) how to know if used 2006 HHR he bought had recall work done by the previous owner. Try these suggestions:
To see what recalls your car still needs, go to https://my.gm.com/web/portal/_warrantyandrecalls.
The site recognized that my 2010 HHR-SS already had an ignition lock cylinder replaced under previous recall, so I only need replacement keys and, of course, the ignition switch. Using the same reasoning, when you enter any car's VIN, recall work that has NOT been done should be the only ones that show up. If in doubt, a dealership should be able to verify a car's warranty/recall history by punching in your VIN.
I'm getting a new ignition switch even though the 2010 HHRs already have the re-designed switch! Overkill by GM?
BTW, can anyone tell me if the procedure to replace the ignition switch does not involve removing the whole lock cylinder assembly from the steering column? It looks like the switch just bolts onto the end of the assembly.
Also, I am still waiting for the power steering recall notice to arrive. :-(

Just found answer re: procedure for replacing ignition switch---looks like entire ignition lock assembly does not need to come out of the car:

good day all, I just opened my second recall notice that was mailed to me.
Interestingly there is a REIMBURSEMENT form included. I haven't contacted my dealer yet, but from the looks of the form, it appears there will be charges to have this done and then GM will reimburse you~!

There will be no charge on the recall repair work.
The reimbursement form should be for the owners that had the repair done BEFORE the recall was issued and had to pay for it then.
GM will now repay those owners that had to pay out of pocket.
