New Engine arrived

I received my new HHR SS 2.0 engine Friday, two days after ordering it. Ordered Wed from Texas, Delivered Friday, so quick. The motor is crated and sealed and appears to be a generation 3 LDK. Has the manifold and flywheel also. It is a newer style than what is in my 08, and is identical to the one ZZP has shown on eBay. I paid $2,169 to my door step. Even several GM sticker labels are identical to the LDK. I'm a happy camper!

ATK engine

I will get some pics up, is there anything in particular you would like to see? I am leaving it sealed and crated as I am not using it. I have four HHR SS's, so I bought it for just in case. Also, if you live in a state that LKQ doesn't have a warehouse, you will save an additional $122 in tax dollars, bringing your total to $2,047 to your door. Unfortunately I live in Ohio and had to pay. I ordered this directly thru their website, ATKhighperformancemotors. When you go there, type LNF in search bar.

Ive considered the exact same thing, buy an extra crate engine and build a dolly for the garage so I can store it and roll it out of my way if needed. The price isnt terrible, especially when you consider price of new cars. How heavy was that thing?

OK I misunderstood your start of this thread.
I thought you were going to replace a bad engine in your only SS.

The engine weight shipped was a little over 400 pounds. I don't have the bill of lading at my home. It is with the engine.

Chris, I see you are at 176k, did you do any timing chain replacement? I did mine at 165k. I'm at 206k now and no sign of fatigue. I did a 500 mile trip today with it and got 31mpg. She is still running like new.

Thanks for the pictures.
Installing that engine could be a problem with the crate around it.

I’d install one of these prior to that install! Post #4
