I should have known to check the spoke clearance as I have been through this and my buddies wife says he'll be working in texas for another 57days. I went through the same problems finding rims to clear my C6 Z06 brakes that I installed on my s-10. I had to order rims for it and don't expect them for a couple months yet. The dealer has a TC cobalt SS on their lot. I'll see if I can take it for a test drive and try the fitment on it and take a closer look at the caliper to spoke clearance.

Smile Success

Tire Rack came through on rims for the 09 SS with performance package (Brembo brakes). I have received and mounted them with Blizzack WS-60's and everything works/fits. The rim is a Rial Como. They were not yet showing on their (Tire Rack) website when last I looked, but phone operators know about them. I'll add pictures when I can get some daylight this weekend.

On a side note - a possible explanation for the apparent conflict concerning the Pontiac G6 rims. I'm told that the Cobalt has had Brembo's for some time. There are two different sizes. The Pontiac rim fits the smaller Brembo's but not the larger ones.

Squint and bare it, 17inch steelies w/Michelen X-ICEs ran me $1300 canadian with an employee discount. It aint cheap, 16's would have cleared my brakes according to other people on this forum, but the manuf recommends 17's

Wink This might help display the problem.

I'm sorry i did not take a picture of it. But if I were you I would find some one who has a G6 and try and test fit the 17" steel wheel to make sure.

Nice pic there. But, those are not Brembo disk calipers there. The Bembos are almost twice as long, that is why the clearance problem. Here is what a Brembo caliper looks like.

I don't have Brembros's, The pic is of my HHR. The car I tried the wheel on was a Cobalt SSTC with Brembro's.

Guess I won't be able to add pictures - appears to require premium membership to post attachments; or allowing scripts to run to insert URL?

Regards the Cobalt Brembo's - A clarification - I stated G6 rim fits smaller and not larger; I should have stated "maybe G6 rim fits smaller not larger". I don't know, haven't tried either on a Cobalt. Its just a logical conclusion.
