What all have you done besides the tune?? did you run slicks??

camaro98z28 09-20-2008 09:00 PM

Thats just Crazy Steve LOL Congrats

BTW, you're my test bed. I want to see the ability of others SS HHR's before I do much to mine. So far you are doing great and making my fear a lot less.

Are you auto or 5 speed? I think you said it was a 5 speed.

Good air and you are easily in 12's

With good air you will easy be in the high 12 second range. No question. No problem. No kidding. Curly

I think you're doing just fine as a driver.

astropods 09-21-2008 05:17 PM

Look in the glove box there's a little plaque that has a bunch of codes on it. I believe the code for lsd is G85....

mightymouse 09-21-2008 06:52 PM

crazysteve 09-21-2008 07:23 PM

Clevelandhhrss 09-21-2008 10:20 PM

Nice man, nice! How much do you think the cat held you back?

crazysteve 09-22-2008 07:56 PM

with the full 3" exhaust I picked up about 35ft/lb and 25hp. A bit more than I was expecting

So you picked up 25whp and 35wtq from the exhaust upgrade? That was also because of tune correct?

WaGoN MOnger 09-22-2008 08:40 PM

dam im starting to want one of these moe and more...

WaGoN MOnger 09-22-2008 08:47 PM

one question, isn't the bsr just a tune? if so why you have that and hptuners?

08redhhrss 09-22-2008 09:06 PM

what was your launch and shift technique? No lift shift and launch control or all just good driving skills?

mitzkity 09-22-2008 10:28 PM

...so I take it this thread isn't about putting 12" wheels on your car??   ...sorry, I'm blonde... and old... :p: ---but at least I'm not worried about YOUR sanity.

Same reason I'm contemplating buying the HPT... start with the BSR, which is a pretty good base tune, then open up some of the parameters you want that the BSR won't let you, and the HPT isn't the place to create a base tune since it can't (yet) reach as many parameters as the BSR.

crazysteve 09-23-2008 07:52 AM

XXL got part of it....but I also way the first to test the BSR tune (we are a dealer for them) and at the time hp was not fully working...but we have that at the shop also so I did some playing around after the fact. Now to the fun part...I do not use the launch control imo it sucks...Turn off traction and esc leave at 2500-3000 and then use the no lift and you are on your way.

Clevelandhhrss 09-23-2008 07:04 PM

So I can't belive I'm the first to ask this, but how much hp do yo think your puttin down. Assuming that 230ish is stock, 280ish is a bsr tune.........

crazysteve 09-23-2008 07:24 PM

on our superflow dyno it put down 290hp and 350ft/lb with current mods started life at 220hp and 240ft/lb

260 is stock and I think I heard that some people are putting down 260+ whp. That is past the LT1 Camaro HP rating

That is all

camaro98z28 09-23-2008 07:39 PM

BTW, Im going to dyno mine this weekend or maybe next. Stay tuned for numbers

WaGoN MOnger 09-23-2008 08:20 PM

So hptuners doesn't offer as much tuning capability as the bsr?

from what I'm getting, is to wait a tad longer for HP Tuner to work the bugs out. 1 or 2 months.

freemaSSon 09-23-2008 09:13 PM

steve you are just RACE GAS and a TIC of TIMING from a 12.........

fantastic results........andy is a GREAT ALLY to have in your corner, i have had him in mine since the beginning and i have broken some serious hearts and parked some outstanding trailer cars.............

Good Luck in your quest brother.....i love to see ANY form of hot rod that is NOT supposed to go with ALL GO.....and 12's are NO JOKE for any form of hot rod muchless the HHR.....

when the clutches and engine mods catch up we'll be laughing at 12's but for the time being and with the current aftermarket support your results are OUTSTANDING BROTHER..........HUGE KUDOS TO YOU

Clevelandhhrss 09-24-2008 07:52 AM

LOL!!!!! XXLLOL!!!!:thumb:

crazysteve 09-24-2008 08:01 AM

just remember a dyno is a tuning tool not a measuring stick, different ones will read different numbers, and on top of that you can make the dang things read what ever you want. We have one customer that has dyno many different places and he has us add another 12% to be closer to other dynos. Soo that would be 325hp and 392ft/lb.....see just numbers.

WaGoN MOnger 09-24-2008 08:52 AM

Another question lol. Your trap speed seem kind of low for your power and time. YA let off lol?
