Lookin good . Lots of engine compartment noise. Injectors tick and sound come into the drivers compartment. Gm say that this is normal operation of the turbo. ????????????

2008 hhr ss

There is a ticking sound that enters into the interior and is distracting and anoying. Morning start or cold start sound like a problem with engineering this first 2.0l turbo that the hhr has rushed out to markert. Gm still claims that this is normal operation of the high pressure fuel pump????????? Any one having same problem get back to me..

Crank the radio and pedal to the floor that way all you hear is the exhaust and turbo whistle. Its normal, either get used to it or take it back, thats the only fix for it. sorry man

Nothing was rushed. The Solstice was the first with this setup ( a couple years now). This is just some of the issues with hi-po cars. The sound goes away after a couple minutes for me and especially with the sunroof and any combination of windows down and the radio on. The car is too cool to worry about a little noise for me.

They are either electric or named Mercedes Benz. Not cheap though.

Just live with it and enjoy the ride!!!! This is a performance SS from the factory, it should make some noise, that is what it is all about. In fact I will be looking for either a muffler or cat-back exhaust in the future, as I feel mine does not make enough noise...

It is a bit noisy, but the High Pressure Direct injection system is whats responsible for a 260 HP turbocharged engine to be rated within 1 mpg of the standard 160-170 hp engine. Worthwhile tradeoff in my book.
