2008 HHR SS Seats

I just got an email from Brian, who has been very nice, confirmed that the SS automatic transmission version will have arm rests. I would love to go manual, but it is difficult to talk on my phone, drink my coke, check email and shift gears. Actually, my wife will be driving this car quite a bit and she doesnt do manual shifiting.

That's good news. I don't see how anyone could drive a HHR without them.

well I'm getting the HHR SS in amnual and as soon as I get it im off to get it retuned by Wheatley tuning....He did a pontiac solstice and it put another 30 h/p out from the tune....If GM will get off their duff's and build it...I ordered it just waiting impatiently...

are you concerned about warranty issues if you retune?
Solstices, being RWD can take more power, but it might get crazy with torque steer if you start turning up the boost.
just my $.02

Torque steer, schmorque steer...nothin' a good grip can't take care of!

Seriously, torque steer is overrated. It's something you get used to compensating for after driving FWD for a while. Kinda like drifting on RWD.

Hell yeah!!

If I was getting one, I'd do the same thing. The tune on mine has been the best thing I've done to improve performance.

torque steer in my srt 4 was pretty bad, not like you couldnt control it, but it was very noticable.

You do know that the bung for the armrest will be there for the manual version also. You only have to add the arm rest after you pruchase. The seats will be the same, and by looking at the basic "shape" of the seat, I believe they are the same as the regular HHR, just better supported.

Hopefully GM redesigned the axles to incorporate an intermediate shaft, allowing equal length axle shafts, thus quelling the torque steer. I'm sure someone around here has a cobalt SS, is it equipped this way? maybe the SC cobalts didn't have it, but I think with 260HP, they'll need it. I'm retrofitting a 6-speed manual from a pontiac G6 into a V6 beretta, have to reengineer things to allow the intermediate shaft & equal length shafts.

I noticed that when I first seen pics of the interior. They looked exactly the same to me.
