You need a "work truck" dude!

If I was still working, i'd have bought a beater work truck, I was in the Trades doing Commercial work. (No houses, Hospitals, High Rise buildings, Targets , Menards places like that etc.) Not having to go to work has Saved me a ton of miles in the short time I have had it.

I always bought a decent used Chevy Astro for work to carry my tools in.

Never felt the need to impress the guys on the jobsite.

With a work truck you could still drive it to work now and then and save those miles, that's if you wanted to keep it Longer.

I plan on buying a Beater for next Winters use.

'08 bought in July 2010 with 19,000 on it now has 22,500.

I know you said you plan on driving it until the doors fall off, as do I, but I'd like that to happen much later and get a longer enjoyment out of mine, instead of a distant memory of my HHR Panel.

True , But the quicker i use this one up, The quicker i can get that used loaded black SS panel 5 spd , Which i would have ordered had i had a good dealership , tell me as i mentioned if they made the SS in a panel, Thats what i'd be getting, The owner and the sales guy looked at each other, Knowing i could Wait a few months and order what i really wanted. But did'nt say a word.

So BATRIDE 2.0 - 2.0 is getting closer every day. And if i end up with a low miles one , I'll probally buy that beater astro for my dailey driver, And no i don't have the balls to batitize an astro van .

Ahh then you should UNBat the batride, and sell it while you can still get something out of it.

Take no offence please, I only say UNbat it because overall someone looking to buy an SS HHR may have other ideas for an SS.

Use the proceeds to FIND and BUY that Black SS Panel!

Keep in mind there were not alot of Black SS 5 Spd. Panels made so it may take you awhile to find Exactly what your looking for and at the price your looking to spend.

Panels RULE!

OR, keep the BatRide as the DD, and get the SS Panel as your playmobile.

Mine would have ALOT more miles on it had I been working, as it stands now, after a court date a couple weeks ago, I may never work again,(work injury) that all depends on the Judge and how he see's it. Otherwise the case starts at square 1 again, after 6 years.

So I havent had to use mine as a DD even though I bought it to be mine.

It hasEvolved, and now I will get a Winter Beater to drive in the Salt and Snow.

"i don't have the balls to batitize an astro van ." Thats FUNNY!

I'm surprised Mowgli hasn't popped up on here yet. I believe he's got a little over 52K miles on his '08 SS that he's put on in about 2 years. Man he drives Everywhere!

I bought my 2008 SS in July of 2k9 with 16k miles on it. I pulled into work today with almost 42k. I commute a fair distance. But I have every inclination of putting a new drivetrain in her when it dies and doing it again. The HHR is perfect for my lifestyle and I've not seen another car made that gets me 30mpg combined and can best a majority of cars stock and a vast majority modified. A car this useful is never this much fun, so I plan to enjoy this for some years to come. I may very well at some point sell this car to my mother (she loves it) and buy another if I can find a low mileage one.
