6sp for 2010

Is it too early to start lobbying for the 6sp tranny for '10?

I thought some of the other LNF powered cars came with a 6. Upon further review I see that was incorrect. So why does the upgrade kit for the HHR SS only yield 315 ft-lbs of torque, while it's higher in the others?

The other cars are rear wheel drive and the difference offsets the drivetrain losses...I guess this was their "safe" number before warrenty work kicked in from too much power.

Notice anything fishy about the 6 speed?

Caliber SRT4: 3.23:1, 1.952:1, 1.321:1, 1.061:1, 0.971:1, 0.886:1 final drive: 4.063:1

HHR SS : 3.38:1, 1.76:1, 1.18:1, 0.89:1, 0.70:1 final drive: 4.05:1

With the money problems and the idea that I don't think it will fit with out a lot of mods. GM would have put it in already if it was right for the engine, cheap or easy.

I do know the Auto 6 sp will not fit and to make it fit the pan needs to be modified. To modify the pan it would take a lot of work and testing to meet goverment standards.

I hope they suprise me but with money being tight I don't expect GM to invest too much into the HHR over the next couple years.

I have not driven a 6 SO manual FWD yet but my moms Malibu V6 has a great 6 sp auto. It is as smooth as glass and the paddle shifter work great.

Chevy needs the money Volt, Cruze and other new models they are already bringing out.

With money tight and a Orlando coming I wonder if they will even consider a new HHR.

GM already has too many models and we will soon hear how many will be cut this coming week.

I'd like to see a 6 spd auto in the SS - the one in the Malibu rules.
