Adding LSD to non-LSD car

I am looking for some advice on which would be the better way to go.

I have been working on my HHR build for some time. I have the suspension and brakes done, and solid motor mounts. Traction in a straight line is adequate with good tires. But I am still having issues in turns.

Would it be better to have a quaife installed or just pick up a used G85 transmission?
I know the quaife installed by itself would be significantly more expensive, but I need to upgrade my clutch, so I figured I would have it done at the same time to cut down on labor.

I would like to get all of this sorted before I start adding anymore power.
Any help is appreciated!

People that can help will want to know: is this a daily driver or a race car, what kind of competition, what "issues in turns"?

I don't know much about it, but wouldn't LSD make for more problems in turns? I thought LSD is for straight line acceleration.

you're thinking of an actual locker, where it locks both wheels to turn at the same speed no matter what. LSD is a "Limited Slip Differential", which puts power to boths wheels and allows the wheels to "slip" when cornering, so you don't get wheel hop.

Team green LSD insert with upgraded springs
4.17 new style F23 (from 2007 base model hhr) w. LSD
I put a team green LSD insert in a 4.17 F23 for my SS. You can use them in the automatics too actually

That is not a locker but what's called a spool. A locker will unlock when going thru a turn. The ones I knew about did make a clunk or loud click when the unit re-engaged when going straight from out of a turn.

I am going to guess, but you might need to row your own gears for LSD. I don't personally know of LSD applications in FWD automatics. I hope to be proven wrong...
