Brake Pads - Brembo

Does anyone have a source - other than the dealership - for a set of front brake pads for Brembos? I have an '09 SS w/ performance package.

GM p/n 25808929

Thanks!

Just spoke to Tom. Pads will be shipped Monday.

My dealer wanted list price; Crate Engine Depot offered a generous discount.

Thank you very much!

this is very true. i had an issue with CED last week when ordering my new struts/shocks, i spoke to Tom and he made things right. i've never had an issue with CED other than that and it got resolved quickly.

What's going to happen to those who may want to keep their HHRs for more than 10 years? Will the Brembo pads still be available? I have to wonder why GM went with such a unique design from Brembo rather than something that is more mainstream. It would have made the pads more available and less $$.

Don't worry as in time companies like Hawk and EBC will offer pads as will many others.

The Brembo package is not that unique. It is a OE package and I am sure we yet to see the last of this caliper on a GM or other OE car. It is easy to hang this on other cars in the future as the caliper only needs a caliper bracket to fit it to another car. This is easy and cheap for a MFG to do.

The new GS is to have a Brembo brake and I would not be suprised if it is not the same one.

Keep in mind Brembo is not like it used to be. They only used to make the highest line brakes for race and exotic cars. Since they went public on the Exchange they have put a focus on doing less expensive but upgraded brakes for high volume OE cars. We will see more Brembo in the future as this is a market they will grow.

The Brake systems on the ZR 1 and Enzo are what they used to only do and the brakes could almost cost half as much as some here paid for their HHR. The price on the 6 & 4 piston Calipers, pad ceramic rotor ZR 1 system is pretty large. I have heard to buy that system could run as much as $9,000-$12,000.

Even the first Firehawks back in the 90's the Brembo option was fitted from a F40 Ferrari on the front. I think they were around $5,000-$6,000 back then. Only a couple got that option.
