Does anyone know if the brembo brakes and rooters from the frt will fit on the rear?

 

e brake ?

 

I have thought of the idea that I would buy the brembo for the front then put the stock front on the rear, but even if it would fit theres no e brake and with a 5sp thats mandatory.

 

I can only imagine that it is more work than what it is worth. Plus there would be more stopping force than what you need in the rear and whis would upset the ballance of the car. My thoughts were to use the original GM rears and sand off all the original casting marks and hae them powder coated black to match.

 

Yes you would want smaller rear brakes as 75% of your braking is in the front. If you have too much to the unloaded rear you will spin out in a heart beat.

Remember the weight transfers from the rear to the front under braking and you need the big brakes in the front not so much to the rear. If you had them on you would have to dial the balance more to the front anyway.

 

Thanks for all the info, just found a site on ebay that sells Brembo covers, so I'm going to see if there's one available for our brakes it makes more since and the price is a h_ll of a lot better

 

I think someone needs to buy the Cobalt SS/TC rear ventilated rotors & calipers for a nice retrofit!

 

I was trying to find a set of Brembo's online somewhere (new, not take-offs) for a 2008 Auto SS. Any ideas? No luck so far.

 

thats what I am going to do when the money allows it, should be a pretty simple swap I think our heavy tanks would greatly benefit from this....it works awesome on the Saab cars

 

The Brembo option was only included with the Performance package, which was only for Manual, so that might be why your not finding them with a search. (at least in 2009 that was the case)

I would think you would be able to find them at gmpartsdirect I am pretty sure the below are the numbers needed for the Brembos (maybe GMmanager can help):
