GM did not have any errors in their way. It was more due to marketing to make changes in each year. GM knew they were limited on what changes they were going to make due the Chapter 11. The BK has a lot to do with what was done or not done on the SS.

They offered more standard items as they rasied the price along the way. The two seats were in the prototype Bob Lutz showed at the intro at the Woodward Cruise. They had them planned all along. By raising the price and offering more content it makes for a easier way to market a vehicle and make the price increase look less painful.

Things like the back up camera and other still born options fell victim to the lack of money. GM also was not going to plow a lot of money into a platform that was dying even before the Chapter 11.

Either way the seat was an 08 option and all that have the seat option will have the two different seats unless they were changed like I did mine. 09 it just depends on the time of year it was built as to if it was an option or standard with one or two seats.

Then you get to 2010 and the color options were gone as was the roof rack options. They made the SS pretty much a pick a color and you have no other choice other than the tranny and a few options.
ahh that all makes sense. well then i guess i have the standard seats, but they are still very comfortable, a lot of my friends say they need to be wider but i like them the way they are, ya i have an 08 and i have the roof racks, sunroof, 5-speed, grey interior, and well those are most the the options even available. i have read tons of reviews on the brakes and whether there is a big difference between the standerd brakes and the Brembos, is there a big difference between the two?

Not a lot of difference. Keep in mind OE Brembo's are not the same as racing Brembo's. Their racing brakes are on a whole different level. For example the ZR1 brakes are not like any other OE package Brembo offers at GM.

They do prove to be better under track conditions or autocrossing but in street use few will ever accede the abilities of them. It is a case if you have them it is a good thing and if you don't the standard brakes will work fine and odds are you will never see them fade in hard street driving.

The seat thing is just a matter of taste. I like my performace seats as I feel held in place better while the standard seats have less latteral support. Also I have long legs and the longer thige support is better for me. Shorter people tend to like the standard seats and the shorter lower seat is more comfortable to them. It just comes down to what you like. For the most part is is not really a big deal.

I just hated the one standard seat and one performance seat. It looked like someone screwed up at the factory. That is why I change the one seat over. It is good to know how do upolstery work. To me the the car need two of the same seats no matter which one as one of each looks bad.

ALso the seat backs are the same on each so really only the bottoms are different.

To top it all off, I may be changing them again, or at a bare minimum getting them covered in leather.

Heated, leather seats

You could have the only SS with heated leather seats (like the LT option) if you wanted to go all out!

I have some corbeau seats now, but I may end up with a set of Sparcos, unless I can find a Bride to sit my narrow ass in to test fit.

I think the current corbeau seats look killer, can't say about seating comfort.
But I also understand the pursuit of perfection..Blessing & a Curse..

I bought a complete set of 2010 SS seats on eBay , swapped the buckets and sold the old set for almost enough to break even. The performance seats are just more comfortable to me

The corbeau is a better seat than the stock ones (and yea, they do look good), but I'd like more lateral support in the thighs and torso. I'll probably go with a more aggressive seat if the wifey buys one of the S4s shes been looking at since she won't be driving the SS then.
