The way to handle this is to grab a piece of paper from your vehicle and pretend to write down your info on the note and leave it under the wiper of the vehicle you hit. Actually, of course, you write down nothing, but all witnesses think you're being honest.

We dropped off the SS at a close by body shop last night, insurance said the whole door needs to be replaced. Really ? The whole door ? Its not that bad. Should have it back next week sometime.

I would take the new door as opposed to the old one repaired and full of body filler.

No. But I'm actually thinking of making a trip up there and renting a "Rent A Wreck" for about an hour (and remembering to take paper and pencil).

Yeah, me too. But a good body shop should be able to pull out the dent(s) and very minimally use body filler.

Don't think a door skin is available. Would need to be a one off, so sizing, cutting, welding. grinding and filling would be more than a whole new door.

I agree with the good body shop idea. But again maybe the cost of the door is less expensive that the labor would cost

I see it every week. The worst place to park is Whole Food's parking lot in Venice.

The parking spaces are small, even for the narrow HHR and every time I go into the store with my wife, I get a dent, so I just stand in the parking lot, outside the car purely for defense.
