Don't Do That!!!

Put regular gas into your turbo upgrade equipped SS that is!!! Take my word, your car will be very, very unhappy about it. My GF accidently pumped just over half a tank's worth of 87 into my SS a couple of weeks ago and we soon found out just how fast the computer's anti-detonation routine kicks in and shuts things down. I was able remedy things by adding a gallon or so of premium (only 91 out here) every couple of days and just slowly burning off the bad stuff while driving the car ever so gently. It took much longer than I thought to get rid of the last of the substandard fuel mix because that darn HHR does get super good mileage when driven that way. Happily, the car seems to have recovered completely and is running fine now.

Yep, when they say premium fuel required, they mean it.

You should have added some octane booster.

It won't hurt the car.....

I have put 87 in a couple times when gas was crazy exspensive to see what the difference was. Mileage is the same and performance is hindered a tad.

No boosting and it should be fine. My wife did that to ours after we first picked it up. I just drove normal and kept it from building boost and all was fine even with the GMPP kit

That's right, drive like a real geezer with no problem at all.

No search for a new girlfriend, she's repented sufficiently.

She washed and detailed the car for me and promised to keep her mind on business if she ever fuels it again!

I had to get gas recently in the middle of nowhere and the premium fuel was only 90 octane. My car was very unhappy as well.

Maybe its just because of where I live, but the dealer told me I could run 87 with the LNF. I talk to one of the sales guys that runs it always. BTW...I live in the Denver area @ 6000 feet. That being said, I still use the 91, it's only 2 or 3 bucks more.

The more important ???? You make your gf pump gas!!!! does she have a sister? j/k
