Door lock removal

Can anyone point me in the direction of having my lock removed or cut down so I can hand my arm out the window comfortably? Damn thing is exactly and uncomfortably in the way!!!

I also saw a thread on this (maybe another board???) where people were cutting them down.

After getting the stubby door locks I still cut the rod (need to give credit where credit is due my husband cut the rod) with a hacksaw just a little, so they were more level with the door ledge. Works out great!!!!

i took the dremel and a cutoff wheel to my rods when i put on my smoothie knobs. took maybe 1/4" off the rod, and now the smoothie knobs are just above flush when locked. they stick up like a bump, and i can't feel them at all.

When you remove them, be sure to pull up and twist counter-clockwise.
