Can a non-turbo model run an e47 tune? I'm assuming it probably wouldn't be worth it. Unfortunately the closest e85 fuel around me is about 25-30 minutes away.

Of course ...:twothumbs:
Any engine can run an Ethanol "tune"
I had my 1998 LS1 Z28 on an E60 "tune" for a few years, before
I traded it in for the "buggy"...
My closest Ethanol station is also 25 minutes away...:corny:

I'm getting ready to get mine tuned but since I don't have an ethanol station close by I guess I'll go with a regular tune :(

CJ, is your tune done by trifecta? I've been considering having them do and e47 tune for me since it will only cost $100 cuz I already have their premium tune, but I haven't found any real feedback regarding trifectas e47 tunes.

i have the E47 trifecta tune and love it. that is all i am going to use now

Trifecta e-47 ordered :corny: Just in time for the local ICC car show/cruise/drags(huge event with 2-3000 cars) There will be two dynos there on the car show day so hopefully I'll have some #s too.

Hi Everyone, what if I want to run straight E85 (being I have 3 stations near me) would that be a problem on the engine? And what about tuning, I have a superchips cortex. Would that work, or do I need another tuner? (I have a 2010 HHR SS)

Thanks
Michael

if you read the thread there was only a gain of 5 more hp w straight E85. you need a tune for both E47 and E85. you would need to contact superchips to see if they have them. i dont think they do

Not much return, running straight E85, with a mildly modded stock
turbo LNF, E47 = 30HP , E85 = 35HP
E47 has been proven over many years, to be the best choice, for a trouble free, & worry free increase in power, on the LNF engine...:twothumbs:

Thanks for quick reply, your right, I did miss that post. But I'm still trying to understand the reason for mixing. The E85 (In my area is $3.39 a Gal), 91 is $4.25 a Gal. So doesn't the dollar saving out weigh the 5HP gain? (Sorry, I'm not trying to be a a$$, but that's why I asked about the straight E85)
