A few questions.

Well I'm in the market for a Hhr SS, and have a few questions.

Ok first off, Im looking at a 09' silver SS it has every option and was a gm demo with 10k on it. The dealer told me that the $2500.00 cash back can't be down with this car cus gm titled the car already, is this true?

Also the $2500 cash back gm has going on does the dealer get that back from gm? One dealer here is trying to tell me they buy the cars from gm and gm makes them take the 2500 off the top, he says they actually lose money? True or False?

Thanks for all of your help guys!!

Your dealer is correct that if it has been titled, there is no cash back from GM, but the good news is that it is a used car and the price should reflect that! In other words, the price should be lower than the best deal you can get on a new one minus the rebate(s).

I would also assume that 10K of the warranty (and the months since titled) are gone as well.

P.S. to get a good idea of what used SS's are worth, check out this thread:

I would do a car fax to see who it was titled to. This is a used car IMHO!

The one thing that just doesnt add up is, he says that gm titled the car and used it as a demo...Why would gm title a car? Im not dumb when it comes to gm, ive been on the power tour 4yrs in a row, and have made friends with some gm guys and they have never titled any of the car they take on the tour, they all use dealer plates... haha I do to cus then i dont have to run emissons haha

And yes then that makes it a used car, good thought i will have to bring that up.

Something is definately fishy. I like the suggestion of having the dealer provide a complete carfax report to you. And as all have said, titled=used!

This is a load of BS the dealer is trying to feed you. Avoid that dealler at all costs, they are being dishonest. The $2500 comes from GM, not from the dealer.

It's used in my opinion. Check the threads to find out what others have paid. Mine was an 08 with 9000 miles so it isn't the exact same, but it's an SS loaded as well. It was priced well below what a new one was.

in europe the auto manufacturers will preregister a car to boost their numbers on paper. then sell off the car for cheaper. im sure someting like that goes on here. could be what the dealer. means

It may have been a "dealer demo", which means that one of the sales people or managers use this as their personal car. If a customer comes in and wants to drive an SS, they usually let them take it for a spin. I am not 100% sure, but I believe that it needs to be insured and licensed, which would mean it needed to be titled.
How else would it get 10K miles?
