Good tire options from y'all down south?

I'm looking at getting some new tires and I want to get a wider tire and probably go with 245-40-18. I've looked a lot and opinions are everywhere about good tires. I work in construction and drive through some of the worst roads and huge gravel parking lots that never get graded and put around 100 miles a day on my SS. Anyone have any tried and tested wheels that can hold up and keep a decent ride? On the last leg of some Yokohamas right now.

I understand it's a ss and a nice car, but it's no corvette or cobra or high end super car. It gets 25-27 mpg and looks cool. Just need new tires. Thanks

I wont recommend low profile tires if you are driving over gravel/bad roads. Since I'm in Florida my last set were some good rain tires.

Old Lar. The OP has a SS. Low profile tires are the only ones you can use on it with the 18" rims.
Now, if he could fit some 17"s or maybe even 16" rims on there, then he could get some more sidewall on his tires.

Yeah there only so much meat I can put on there. I love my ss rims but 17s with some tire on them sounds pretty good.

I'd try a 17 or a 16. Good note is that on a 16" wheel, tires should be cheaper since it's more common. Heck, you could find wheels and tires from a base cobalt that somebody has messed with for pretty cheap.

On the SS, you can run into clearance issues by going to smaller rims. 16's may or may not clear the caliper, depending on the specific rim.
If the car has Brembo brakes, then there is even less room to downsize. I don't think any 16's will clear the Brembos.

If you have the brembo brake calipers, make sure you have clearance before finalizing the wheel deal

Non brembo here. 16" is too small for my liking anyways. I need tires so maybe I can find a good deal on some nice ones with tires already mounted. Thank y'all for the help.
