I’m thinking the screws mentioned are the retaining nuts and the stays are the plastic protrusions they thread into.

If they are the same as mine, the shaft/screw piece is metal and threaded on both ends. You screw them into the back of the metal emblem, then use the metal nuts to tighten from back of whatever you are mounting on.

However, you have to use some big washers or something to span the grille openings inside.
I took mine off right after I did it, didn't really care for the off-center look.

I think that Rocky Ray has a Camaro SS emblem on his HHR. A little different in shape than the HHR SS one that some of us have mounted on the grille.


Besides it being a little different, he made the mistake of mounting it UPSIDE, DOWN !

I doubt if this red emblems comes in white as well -- I doubt it since its a camaro emblem --Since my HHR is red ,this may look pretty good -- Ive already ought a white rear hatch oem emblem ,but I NEED to fabricate a plastic mounting peice like firemangeorge -So I may try the red camaro one & just see how it looks - if I dont like ,Ill fabricate something to mount the one I have
