ramps not needed.......

you do not need ramps to change the oil on the SS, you can get to the oil drain plug by simply lying on the ground......easiest oil change ever of any vehicle that I have owned.....

I don't know about that. Have you seen how thick some HHR owners are?

Easiest change ever yes, but you must be very, very thin with long arms! I need the bricks and board.

After a couple of DIFFERENT efforts in ramps and methods to work under my vehicles, this is FINALLY the solution I came up with.

Notice I still needed to construct "ramps" to clear the undercarriage of my cars while driving onto the hoist. The minimum/collapsed hoist height is about 5.5 inches....without the ramps, part of the undercarriage of the HHR drags on the hoist....the Vette will not clear it at all.

Excuse the mess.....my "Man Cave" is currently under construction.

Dude, you have a lift, not ramps!! Holy crap thats awesome. Anyway, I use the plastic ones from AutoZone that say "FOR LOW PROFILE VEHICLES" on the ramps. They work fine; however, your front lip still just barely touches the ramps so I took tie wraps, and took two peices of very small plywood (apprx. 8 x 8) and tie-wrapped the two pieces at the tip of the ramps (drilled holes). No problems now. The pieces of wood just stay attached.

Someone posted another "dead thread" about 2 x 8 ramps a year or 2 ago.

I just place a piece of 2" x 12" in front of each Rhino Ramp and drive up. The wood raises the front end of the SS just enough to clear, allowing me up the ramps. I've never had an issue with slipping and it cost me virtually nothing.

That was good advice. I am going to remember that.
