HHR SS Pics from the Woodward Dream Cruise

Just posted additional photos I took at the WDC of the HHR SS introduced at the Woodward Dream Cruise by Lutz. (Don't know how to get pics from the Gallery to here yet.)

Some initial impressions:

- The shifter feels quick and positive, not sloppy or cludgy.
- The interior is very tidy and uncluttered.
- Feel of the seats is more supportive on the sides but comfortable. You may not see it in these 640 x 428 pics, but there are different weaves in the fabric of the seats, surface, sides and back. Have never seen that before. Looks great (usually prefer leather but would go for this setup)
- Really like the window controls on the doors.
- Like the relocation of the rear spoiler (less drag)
- The turbo intercooler is located down low in front of the radiator so as to not interfere with the air flow to the radiator.
- Ground effects are well done and make room for the intercooler in the front.
- The looks of the back seat are impressive. Back seat was not an afterthought. Really looks inviting.
- Paint work looks first class.
- Polishes forged wheels also look first class.

Thats all folks.

Sweet work!!! Thanks a lot :)

Is anyone else scared of the front end getting scraped up going up inclines? It looks like it sticks out pretty far and is pretty low...

I thought the same thing. Sideways to get out of driveways, look OUT for speedbumps! Parking lot curbs, etc.

price???

Does anybody know how much this is going to be? I have an '06 with custom paint and a few other things done to it. It has 16K on it but i'm thinking that if i get enough trade in value, i'll go for it.

Well, we don't know for sure yet. A Cobalt SS starts at $21,590, and an Equinox Sport starts at $27,995. A lot of guesses here in the forum are pegging the HHR SS right between these two at a starting price around $25,000. However, with the announcement of the Dodge Caliber SRT4 at $23,000 (an HHR competitor), the price may be a tad lower. Keep in mind, these are only guesses until we hear something official.

I'm thinking that grill and those bumpers looks like a very easy swap.

Get out the flamethrowers, the hood still don't fit down along the fender and the spoiler looks like something off a ricer.
