HHR SS Trans PN#

Is the part number 55563726 the correct one for a manual trans for the turbo car? This is for open differential. My is about to go out and I'm just going to order a new one.

According to this online GM parts vendor , it fits your 2008 thru 2010 HHR SS

Yes, but it also says fits LS/LT. That would be a F23 Getrag not Saab/F35. Some say the F23 better of the 2. F23 is also cheaper
What you want is a F35 or upgrade to a F40 6-speed if you want to stay with Saab.

This must be the F35 with LSD

They list it fits, don’t say you’re gonna need extra parts.

The ZZP kit for the F40, transmission not included, some assembly required

Do not trust parts suppliers listings, especially when getting it wrong would be a big deal. Some are worse than others, but they tend to just blindly copy other vendors mistakes, and/or beleive whatever nonsense the manufacturers claim.

Call any GM parts department and give them you VIN. They can tell you the correct p/n for that specific car.

New transmission
Fluid
Clutch disc
Pressure plate
Throw out bearing
Flywheel
May as well get the following as well:
Clutch master cylinder
Shifter cables (2)

But, I have never heard of a standard trans on a daily driver wearing out.

PulpFriction 06-06-2023 07:24 AM

It’s an SS. Without the GMPP tune, the life will depend upon the driver’s traffic light proclivities.

Well, maybe with the tune, too.

Are you suggesting it might just be a solenoid or something? Because that’s a good point.

OP did discuss a bearing problem in another thread.

I just have never heard of a standard trans made this century that failed. Clutches are designed to be the weak point. Last century synchro rings sometimes failed.
FWIW, the F23 in the LS/LT is supposed to be the less problematic. Evidently the F35 has some weakness in the shift forks. Information from the interwebs, not from personal experience.
