For me, it was 30,000.

 

The SS needs the Brembos, my 2lt came with the same rotors and calipers that the SS had stock. I have to use( I ) on the stick, on long down grades or the breaks get wimpy.

I tried ceramic on the SS before I switched to Brembos and they were blissfully dust free.

 

Still like new after 22k but i drive my SS very smooth...on the road

 

Mine were do just over 30,000. This was mostly city driving with moderate use. This looks like the average from what I have seen on most.

Some folks think they should get more but each system is a little different and many now have electronics that help let them live longer but they tend to be on more advanced brake system. My Bosh system on the GTP would do 60,000 but it also was had some extra features.

You want to have a good system just replace the rotors with OE Bendix solid rotors and go with EBC Red pads. No pad is dustless but the Reds do a great job of cutting dust and deal with heat much better than stock OE. I used to have black wheels in 2 days of driving now it takes a week before it is noticeable.

Note too when I replaced my brakes the front and rear were worn even and were did a good job.

Hawk pads also are great for low dust. If you are going to improve the brakes spend the money on better pads and do not waste the money on drilled or slotted rotors unless you want the look. They are cosmetic and only cost more money for something that will not enhance the stopping.

 

Another note:
Brembo upgrade including calipers pad and rotor (Drilled and slotted) $560 and took 20 minutes to do. Most people can do this in about an hour with some basic auto repair knowledge.
Something to consider

 

I forgot to mention, I have the factory Brembos on my 09 and a 5 Speed manual. I guess I am about due because my rotors have a small raised area towards the outside.

 

The edge is wear but you need to check the pads as that is where the wear that matters is. Most rotors will wear an edge but you may still have a few thousand miles left or you may not.

Pull a wheel and look at them. Odds are id the fronts are worn down the rear will be close as most cars anymore generally wear them even,.

also how did you change two tires, calipers, rotors, pads, and bleed the new brakes in 20 minutes?
