Improved mpg's for SS?

Has anybody found a way to up their mileage? I'm averaging 30 in both city and highway. I'm happy with that, but of course if i can get better, that would be great.

increase air in tires

synthetic oil. slow down. i have found increase from all of these. i run 39psi cold in my tires. 44psi is max for my oem firestones. i also get better with the cruise control on the interstate. i think your mpg is good. i have 08 2.4 auto. i am only getting 26 , but i am doing 80mph for 200 miles of my 270 mile a day route. if i slow down to 70 i get 27. and 28 if i do 60. before increasing tire pressure and changing oil , i was getting only 24.

I actually do drive my SS like a sane person. I do 70kms in towm n only 115 kms on the highway. I'm going to have to try the synthetic oil, i never knew it made that much a difference.

Are you talking 30 to a U.S. gallon or an imperial gallon

umm you had better already have synthetic oil in there... GM requires it for the SS (the GM spec for the SS is only met by synthetics.)

Don't you folks know anything about the car you have purchased?????Have you read the Manual?? Didn't the Dealer tell you about the car???
The Chevy HHR SS comes with Mobil One synthetic oil installed!! and this motor requires Mobil One synthetic Oil..........
So changing to Synthetic Oil will not make any difference........and if you don't use the correct oil you will void the warranty.........

Tom.....

While I agree with MOST of your statements, especially (big surprise) reading the Owners Manual, the "motor does NOT REQUIRE Mobil 1 synthetic oil". It REQUIRES A SYNTHETIC OIL MEETING GM SPECIFICATION, which there are several of.

But as you stated, it already has Mobil 1 synthetic oil installed from the factory.

You're doing better than I am. I am averaging 24-27MPG per tank of gas, but I do have a lead foot.
