K&N air intake hmmmmm???

Well I installed a K&N air intake about 3 months ago. At about 400 miles of driving with it I got a check engine light. Luckily I have interceptor gauge. Checked it out, and it was related to the K&N. I cleared the code and has been running fine since. A few K miles and still nothing even drove it to Las Vegas and back with no problems now a few weeks ago I removed the lid to paint the K&N logo on it. Left it to dry so I drove my car one day with the lid. Drove 10 miles and got a check engine. Same code. When I finally go home I put the lid back on and cleared the code. No more problems now. My question is why now I get a code with the lid off when before I didn't have a problem the stock intake. Also don't get a code anymore with the K&N as long as the lid stays on. Anyone know why? Did the engine just get use to the intake or something ???? I'm lost

They are weird, most of them act like Christine, especially when it comes to intakes, tuned or not. Mine runs fine with K&N and the lid off, yours don't, see what I mean ?

I run a real big K&N/AEM filter, with no lid[filter too big for a lid], and my hood scoop is functional. Never threw a code, so far, and it's been that way for about a year now. "Moon"

08 banshee has tried about 4 cai's, his car hates them all, even with trifecta. It runs perfect with a K&N in the stock box, with or without the lid btw.

But He want's that cool looking ZZP intake...

There's another example Moons likes lots and lots of air..

True that. I guess I'll stick with what I got and not remove the lid again.

What ever you are doing it seems happy, I would just drive it. If mine pulled 24 with stg-1, I wouldn't have tuned it.

Will do sir thank you. I guess I just didn't realize how differently these Super Sports behave as for as upgrades go.
