Question launch control and no lift shift

Has any one tested the launch control with stick or auto, and no lift shift, if so are there Any likes or dislikes? Also anybody know when the Brembo package is going to be available, or any clue on what pricing is going to be for the option, my research says available with lsd option for 495.00 but I think its just for the lsd not the brembo, Im getting impatient.

Test drove one with the 5spd, salesman was cool and while getting onto a hiway ramp I asked and he said go for it...stopped the car

the competition mode selected, revved to 41-4200rpm and it held fast then let the clutch out quick but smooth and the car took off hard no wheelhop but some spin, then banged 2nd and the car shuddered but the boost held at 14-15psi then did it again at 3rd and same result, the car really moves with that feature!

Only downside is the clutch pedal being soooo light and takes some getting used to...

hope they put a strong clutch in it, the feature is too much fun!

did you happen to notice how many miles were on this car you drove? I drove one (in traffic) with 14 miles on it, so it wasn't even broken in at all. Never had a chance to get on it much at all except on a freeway onramp and even then, the fwy was kinda jammed.

The auto has launch control also, but I haven't actually tried it yet. I have turned it on but didn't jump the go pedal hard.

Just to let ya'll in on something....

As far as the manual trans is concerned, all those "features" are is a reduced rev limiter (set to 4000 RPM) when the clutch is in.

So.... You can't bring it up to the normal redline and pop the clutch for a big burnout and you cannot do a "full power" shift.

Seriously, due to GM's money issues, the SS project was stuck with existing transmissions with marginal capabilities. And, they want to minimize warranty claims due to "abuse".

FYI, I've implemented both the launch control and no lift shift on my LE5 2.4 5-speed over a month ago out of curiosity. Actually, after getting used to the thing, the no lift shift works pretty good with fast, smooth shifts, without abusing the drivetrain.

Do I like it? Sort of, but not sure yet.

I use the "launch control" all the time on my LT2 panel wagon. I always shut off the traction control after start-up. In many people's opinion it should be able to be turned ON when needed, which is hardly ever. Us older folks have built-in traction control.... when the wheel breaks traction, you let off the gas pedal for a second.

Oops, forgot something.

In recent tests with a Saturn with turbo, they found the automatic to be much faster off the line, because you could put your foot on the brake, step on the gas, and spool up the turbo before launching. This was not possible on the automatic.
I personally don't like turbos, can't get the benefit with my type of driving. I like the low end torque of a big V8.( last car was an Impala SS) I just got tired of seeing how happy my gas station attendant was every time I pulled in. I think I paid off his mortgage early.

There is no replacement for displacement!
