the one on the dash is the rpd, remote performance display. It cycles through several screens with neat stuff like g-force readings, not just boost. It was optional 08-09, standard on 2010,guess they had a bunch to use up.

Only one gauge

With that being said can you have both gauges the pillar mount and Performance/center mounted one??Is the Performance one still avaible?I'm thinking you would have to disconnect the pillar one. What has some of you done??

I dislike the location of the rpd. I plan on relocating it somewhere else if the unit is not more than an inch deep. If its not possible to locate it on the left side of the main gauges I may just remove it and get the pillar mount boost gauge. Would much rather have the storage.

You can have both, but you can't remove the RPD if the car came with one. The RPD is part of the car's lan, and won't start with it disconnected. It is the size of a GPS, so it's not very deep at all. I have relocated mine slightly, and added a DashDaq next to it. I had a service writer think that I had moved mine from the pillar to the dash. I had to show him that's the stock location before he tried charging me to troubleshoot what turned out to be a bad BCM

I would like to find out if this boost gauge was year specific. Do all the 2010 SS cars come without the pillar boost gauge since they have the RPD? If you ordered a 2009 SS and added a RPD did Chevrolet remove the pillar gauge?

Thanks
Chuck

I have not as yet bought an SS. I am looking though. I have my eyes on a couple but I would prefer to find a low mileage one local to Maryland. Red or black both interest me. I am looking at a 2009 or 2010 preferably too.
