MAP Sensor Upgrade

Does anyone know if you can have the gm MAP sensor upgrade for a 2008 hrr ss. I can find them for 2009 and 2010. But haven't seen one yet for a 2008.

The Bosch Tmap sensors in the Stage 1 or GMTU kit are the same for the 08-10 SS's.

In case you didn't know this, you can't just install the 3 bar sensors without adjusting the calibrations in the ECM, Car will run like major crap.

Okay so once the kit is installed the computer has to be reflashed? Just trying to make sure before I buy it.

Firemangeorge has the kit, he can confirm for sure!

Honestly. The GMTU or Stage 1 kit was fine back when you could get it and the factory powertrain warranty was still applicable. Since it was considered a GM product, your warranty was still good under the 5 year/100k mile coverage.

Now that all the HHR SS's are beyond that 5 year period, a better choice would be an aftermarket tune.
I couldn't see spending $800 (kit and labor) for the GMTU when there are some better aftermarket choices.
Also. Trying to find a dealer who is current and updated on installing the kit may be an issue. Remember that the SS hasn't been made in 6 years, so the dealer techs may not be too familiar with it.
