Mod referrals?!

I'm new to the hhr world. I just purchased my 08 HHR SS last week. I already have the Forge DV ordered and was wondering if I coud get some input from the pros on what to get before the trifecta tune. Your opinion on intercoolers and piping, turbo downpipes, exhaust, ANYTHING will help. thank you! Also, gm stage 1 before trifecta, or is it pointless?

Talking

Hello Matt and welcome to the site :) I have a 09 SS auto with the Trifecta tune.. and I am just over 300hp.... which I am very happy with ! IMO. get whatever mods you want first then get the tune.. and go with just the Trifecta tune.. though I am sure you will get tons of views on which one to go with.. If you have any questions about the Trifecta tune pm me and I will give you my number and we can talk!!

I would start with all the bolt-ons first and then tune. If that dosent do it for you bigger turbo would be next.

Welcome Matt, There are a few things you might want to add, I would agree with Aaron about the engine mount. If you are out of warranty and you don't want to do the tuning yourself, Trifecta is great Vince has treated me well, I have it in both of mine, i would skip the stg-1 if I had to do it over. The Forum rules say I can't tell you about lots of good stuff, but I can email you about it PM me your address. Here is the beginning of my new SS exhaust.

Go with a catless down pipe to compliment the trifecta tune. The catless DP will give you the most bang for your buck with an aftermarket tune.

Not really
Just punch out the cat guts in the 2th cat.
Than slide a piece of perforated 2.75" tubing into the back of
this stock downpipe, tack in place, & your done.
Better torque, under the curve, this way.
Looks stock, & passes emissions too.

Add a K&N intake, some corn whiskey,(E47.5), some traction, &
Your set to run 12's at the track.
